There is No End

An ancestor of mine landed on North America more than 350 years ago - 1663 to be exact - on the Bonte Koe from Amsterdam.  They had lived in Belgium, having escaped religious persecution in Spain, and one can guess with some confidence that they left for North America to start a new life, which is what they did followed and joined by other family members.  Courtright family members fought during the Revolutionary War in opposition to the lack of representation in their own government and with the dream of living in a country governed by and for the people.

Nearly a hundred years after the founding of the United States by and for the people, Courtright family members served the country in the 19th Century during the Civil War, which was fought initially to prevent the dissolution of the United States.

In the 20th Century, ancestors of mine served during the First World War to oppose militarism, imperialism, and nationalism.  They also served during the Second World War to dethrone authoritarian fascists.

It is astounding then that presently the people lack representation in their own government, which is not working for the people, which is actively fostering disunity, and is militaristic, imperialistic, nationalistic, authoritarian and fascistic.

There is no end to it.
