The back gets glued on in the go-bar deck. The braces being let into the lining of the sides keeps the back perfectly aligned. Next, we begin work on the top, the most important part of the build to date.
What a wild looking setup, looks like something from a science fiction movie. It give the impression that if one were to touch it in the wrong place or otherwise disturb it, it would go flying to pieces.
Yep, it looks crazy, and was pretty skittish when I first build the deck. The bottom surface of the upper plate of the deck was a plastic composite of some kind and quite slippery. I couldn't keep the fiberglass rods in place - they kept shooting across the shop like missles. So I had to attach a second layer - plywood - with a nice rough surface. Now the rods (from a kite store) stay put.
