The Back gets its Braces

Ok.  Now the braces have a 15' radius.  The dish underneath the back in this photo has a 15' radius.  When I glue the braces into place and bias the braces with the fiberglass rods the back is forced into the shape of the dish.  Voila!  The back now has an arch that conforms perfectly to the 15' curvature.  Remember, we already sanded the sides in the dish to the dishes 15' radius so the back and the sides will match perfectly when joined.  The braces are rough.  When the glue dries, the braces will be carved into a lovely ellipse, to maximize strength while minimizing weight.  The ends of the braces will be tapered and pockets in the lining will be made to receive them.  That way, they won't pop loose if the instrument is bumped.
