Family
Once again my legendary photo skills are in evidence. A cousins reunion - outside of Denver. Tom and Hilary on the left. Lyle and Christine near the top right. Valerie and Gina on the near right. We had a blast.
More on the Arkansas
All pretty self-explanatory actually. Browns and Bows. One of the most beautiful places on the earth. Enough said.
Arkansas River Fishing with Dean
It was a fine day in Colorado on the Arkansas River with longtime friend and expert angler, Dean Lippold. For more details see his blog: http://flyfisherthoughts.blogspot.com/ See the April 22, 2012 entry.
I enjoyed myself immensely, which viewed objectively might be puzzling. My rusty, almost non-existent fishing skills were on full display. I took a brief swim within moments of entering the river. My hands, where I neglected to slather sunscreen, are peeling like an onion. The stream side vegetation took a thrashing from my low back casts. I did land a lovely brown, and lost several others. But anyone that loves being outdoors anywhere near as much as I do knows that what passes for my soul is filled to the brim.
Thanks, Dean.

Hell of the North
Here I am Sunday, April 8th, dressed in honor of Paris-Robaix, the "Hell of the North." I wish I had video of the ride with my club, Team Judson, but I was too busy debating if I had the will to live after trying to match the horrifying speeds of the strong riders and avoiding the reckless riding of the "freds."
You have to admit, I look pretty good for an old man.
